I'm Josh Kern, founder and lead recruiter at Superior Hires. I started this practice after years in executive search, where I saw too many searches run by people who weren't equipped—or empowered—to do them well.

The model at most firms separates the relationship from the work. Partners sell, associates deliver. The person who understands your needs isn't the person actually finding your candidates.

I built Superior Hires around a different premise: one senior practitioner, working closely with a small number of clients, handling every aspect of the search personally.

This isn't about scaling. It's about doing the work well—understanding what you're actually looking for, knowing where to find those people, and building the kind of trust that makes hard conversations possible.

I've spent my career helping companies find people who don't show up in obvious places—operators who've built things, specialists with rare combinations of skills, leaders who can navigate ambiguity. The roles where getting it wrong is expensive and getting it right changes everything.
